Personal Statement
My name is Arlyn Rai, and I have been passionate about soccer since I was five years old. Playing in college is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I have dreamed about, and I am eager to make the most of it. I am an enthusiastic and dedicated soccer player with a deep love for the game. My strengths include strong physical defense, mental toughness, and a comprehensive understanding of soccer.
As a team player, I lead by example and encourage my teammates to perform their best. I am highly coachable and respectful to coaches, players, spectators, and referees. I strive to be one of the hardest-working players and recruits you will find. To enhance my fitness, speed, and athleticism, I incorporate CrossFit and agility training into my routine.
Beyond soccer, I am committed to my community and academics. I participate in charity runs such as "Feed the Hungry" during Thanksgiving and Shamrock runs to support cancer survivors. I also volunteer at my soccer club tournaments and at my church, the West Sacramento Sikh Temple. Academically, I maintain a strong GPA and am dedicated to achieving success in college.
I am looking for a college where I can excel both in the classroom and on the field. I am open to all opportunities and aim to find the right match at the highest level of competition. My goal is to be a role model for my peers and make my parents, teachers, and coaches proud.
