Payton King '25 Recruiting Profile

Work and Accountability! These are not just words to me; they define who I am as an individual and as a soccer player. I am Payton King, a 2025 Goalkeeper from Fairfield, CA, with a passion for soccer that has been a constant in my life since the age of 8.  I've played competitive soccer for 9 years and High School soccer for the last three.

In my freshman year, I showcased my skills by surrendering only 2 goals throughout the season, earning honors as Team MVP and All-League 1st Team Defense. The following year, my sophomore campaign, was highlighted by again being named 1st Team All-league, Team Defensive MVP, and a crucial save during penalty kicks that propelled us further in the CIF San Joaquin Section Playoffs. While these accomplishments speak of my achievements on the field, they don't fully capture who I am.

Work, to me, transcends the notion of mere "hard work." As a 6th generation cattle rancher and a descendant of military veterans, my upbringing has instilled in me the understanding that work is not an option but a way of life. Our family motto, "We do what we have to do so we can do what we want to do," underscores my commitment to putting in the necessary effort in every facet of my life.

Accountability is another cornerstone of my character. I believe in holding myself to high standards and, in turn, expecting accountability from those around me. This principle guides me on the soccer pitch, in the classroom, and in my social interactions. I am unwaveringly committed to being accountable in all aspects of my life.
