Isabella Fuentes '26 Recruiting Profile

 Hello, my name is Isabella (Isa) Fuentes. I have been playing soccer for over 11 years and the position of goalkeeper for nine.  I grew up with the game and have developed a passion for the competitiveness and sportsmanship of the game. I am 16 years old and now in my junior year at Sonora High School, in La Habra, California.

Club: Goalkeeper for Sporting California USA G08 ECNL.  Prior to Sporting CA,  I was with Legends FC ECNL-RL for 3 seasons.  Also, prior to Legends, I was on Beach FC and selected to play up on the 2007 and 2006 teams.  Also, in 2019, I was selected for first round of ODP.  

High School: Freshman year I made varsity and was voted "Rookie of the Year" on the varsity team.  Sophomore year had an amazing season and now in my junior year our back line being together now 3 seasons, I have developed a very strong relationship with them and we expect to be a very storng defensive team.  

Academically: During my sophomore year, I successfully completed my Honors Chemistry, Honors English 2,  AP European History and Algebra 2.  For my junior year, I am enrolled in AP US History and AP Psychology.  I believe in challenging myself in the classroom as on the field.  

Leadership: I’m a quick-thinking and natural leader who believes in teamwork and communication.  In middle school, I was Vice President of the Student Body and was a voice for my school.  I was also just selected to be an FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Leader.  This position and responsibility is very important to me.  Getting the opportunity to guide, mentor and lead my fellow students is something I value and cherish very much.  

Athletically, I believe the best way for growth is train, review and train.  I record all my games and most of my training sessions.  I review the videos after to see what I did well and what I can learn to do better.  I take all the good along with the tough advice from all my coaches and apply it to my game to better improve my skills and game IQ.  

I’ve always had college soccer aspirations for as long as I can remember and dream of one day traveling with my teammates to compete in games.  I love teams who support and encourage one another while having a sister bond. While in college, my focus will be a degree in business, because one day I will be the CEO of a successful corporation.
