Layla Anani '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches!  My name is Layla Anani and I am a 2026 graduate. I want to play soccer at the collegiate level and fight on the field every day for my teammates and coaches.  I am so committed to soccer because I appreciate how the sport brings a group of different people together for one common goal and doing it in such a challenging and physical way.  

I attend Harvard Westlake in Los Angeles, which is extremely competitive both academically and athletically. It is one of the top 5 private High Schools in the county.  I made the Varsity Soccer team since my freshman year. I am on the 2008 ECRL Beach Futbol Club team, which we finished the league undefeated and ranked top 5 RL teams in the country in 2024 in the 2023/2024 season.  We also made the ECRL playoff finals in Virgina in the 2024/2025 season.  My main positions are center back and outside back.

I joined soccer club in 3rd grade. My work ethic has helped me move up over the years from Flight 3 to Flight 2 to Flight 1 to the ECRL team for the past few years. I have played for a few clubs and coaches which has all helped me grow and continually be challenged and push me out of my comfort zone. I have been a captain on a few teams as well and I believe in creating an environment where all team members feel comfortable, so they are capable of giving everything they have. As a freshman on the Varsity team, I learned a lot from the upperclassmen like leadership, community and the grit and dedication it takes to play at the highest level. Our HS team has won league both years and last year lost in the CIF Southern CA finals unfortunately.

Not only do I play for a very competitive club team and high school team, I also do private coaching, attend soccer clinics and camps. I am always working to improve and push myself. Further, coaches over the years let me play up to help accelerate my growth and I have been dual roster ECRL and ECNL.

You can count on me to give you everything I have on and off the field, to work hard to get better every day, and to be positive and team oriented. I am ready for this next challenge!
