My name is Sophia Waters, and I am a 5-foot-7 center mid and attacking midfielder in the Class of 2026, and have also played extensively at center defender. I have played and started with the Los Angeles Breakers Club soccer since I was 8 years old, and have been on the 2008 ECNL team since Breakers joined ECNL. Our team has been very successful through the years and has won numerous tournaments, and competed well against many of the best Club teams in the nation.
During my freshman year of high school, I played and started for the Varsity soccer team at Harvard Westlake this past winter. We finished 1st in the Mission League with a league record of 8-1-1, and reached the CIF Championship Game, as well as the CIF Regional Championship Semi-Finals. At the end of the season, Harvard Westlake was ranked #26 in California, and #74 Nationally.
As far as my personality and playing style, I have been and continue to excel at being coachable and communicating with my team and coaches on and off the field. I serve as the eyes and ears of the team on the pitch during games and bring a toughness and tenacity to our team. This tenacity was displayed during my Varsity season when I scored the winning goal to advance my Harvard Westlake team to the finals in the CIF Championships. In addition to my success in Club and Varsity soccer, I have also had the pleasure of participating in ODP, being challenged by the best competition in Southern California, and I look forward to continuing my soccer at the Division 1 level in college.
