Personal Statement

Hi my name is Natalie Orellana. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old and I am now 17. I’m a senior at Pinole Valley High School. I love the game so much. I feel that I am a very smart player. I can see the field and I think ahead about what I will do before I even get the ball. I try to visualize what I will do . I am not a selfish player. Passing is always the first option for me, I look for who is in a better position to get the ball but if I need to I can get by somebody with my dribbling. My club team and I have won state cup and we also just recently won in league. With my high school team we were the TCAL champions and made it to the first round of NCS. I’ve been a starter on varsity since freshman year. And I made the all conference team. I also traveled back to Nicaragua where my family is from and got the chance to participate in an international friendly game with the u15 national team and managed to score one goal where I only played one half. That’s where it started, they called me back for the u20 where I participated in the Central American qualifiers. We qualified and made it to the next round. I participated in Trinidad and Tobago for the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers where I played every game. They also called me for the u17 team where I had the opportunity to be the captain. I played two friendly games against Trinidad and Tobago and got a goal and an assist. In April 2018 I traveled back and participated in the World Cup qualifiers. They then called me up and I played with the Women’s National team in the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Although soccer is my passion and I love it so much I do not neglect my studies. I always put my education first as my parents have always influenced me to do. They always tell me that school and getting good grades is my top priority and the most important. I believe that is true. I would like to study Kinesiology. I want to pe a physical therapist. I love helping people and that really interests me.

Outside of school and soccer I am very involved with my church. I go to St. Joseph's Catholic Parish. I have been involved in community service and helping out with different causes. We have already volunteered at St. Anthony's. We served food to those in need. I also volunteer in the choir at my church every once in a while.  I am a member of the National honor society at my school. We volunteer at elementary schools and read to the younger students there. I am looking forward to the other projects that I will be doing with this club. Im also part of the Animal Rights Club, A Better World Club and The Latino Club. Thank you for taking your time to read this.
