My Name is Delaney Diltz and I am currently a senior at Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego, CA. I am a 2021 graduate and a center/outside back for both my Varsity high school team as well as my club soccer team the DMCV Sharks ECNL. I am very interested in exploring my options for continuing my soccer journey into college. I am a multi-sport athlete and have been a member of the Varsity Track team since I was a Freshman and Varsity Soccer Team for the past two years. In elementary school I also played Basketball and Lacrosse.
My coaches tell me I have a great vision and am able to organize my teams' defense through aggressive communication and great leadership. On the field and in the classroom I hold myself to the highest standards, that help me continue to get better and succeed. I am always working to improve my game through watching film, coaching mentors, and individual workouts. I am known for my long and strong throw ins - my goal in the next few years is to break the world record, I am currently working with my trainer. Soccer is a big part of my life and I have learned to balance it with my school work and with track. I want to play at the highest level of competition so the I can grow and develop as a player. I have loved every minute of my soccer journey especially this past High School Season. Winning Western League, Multiple Tournaments, and being a CIF Southern California Regional 2020 Girls' Soccer Champions Div 1 team member were just a few highlights, not to mention making First All Western League Team, Western League All Academic Team and All CIF Team for Southern California, it has been so exciting. I have been a Team captain for 6 of my 10 years with the DMCV Sharks. As a competitive athlete I look forward to continuing the love for the game into a University.
I am a student and athlete who embodies Faith, Knowledge, Character, Leaderership and Responsibility. When I am not playing soccer, running or working on my school work I am out in my community volunteering. Some of the projects I have helped with in San Diego are beach clean ups with Coastkeeper, food packaging with Feeding America, crafts with seniors with the Girls Scouts of America, Female Athlete Volunteers many different outreach projects, collecting donations for the homeless for both Saint Vincent De Paul and Father Joe's Villages, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society a member of Team Abuelos, and Hogar Infantil which supports an Orphanage (Children's Home) in Chaipas, Mexico.
One of my favorite quotes is from Iron Man - "Heroes are made by the path they choose, not the powers they are graced with." I am a huge Super Hero Fan. Since I was a child, I have always wanted to help people and serve others. The interest of sports medicine came when I started working with my high schools trainers and coaches. These personal connections have inspired and motivated me to want to attend a strong academic and athletic college so I can reach my goals as an athlete on the field and in Sports Medicine.
