Hello Coaches, my name is Daniela Aceves. I am a junior at SI College Prep in San Francisco, CA. Soccer is a big part of my life, I have been playing it since I was 5 years old. Being a college soccer player is my main goal and I am working towards becoming the best player I can be in High School and joining a good soccer program in college. I think that the rigorous training I get from my club team combined with the high school experience, my drive, and the extra hours I am dedicating to develop technical proficiency of the game have helped me throughout my development process. In this last year, I have become captain of my club team and my high school team. I hope to continue the learning process at the collegiate level. I play center-back and defending midfielder. As a center-back player, I want to quell the opposing team's attack at all times and generate unique play situations from the backline. This is my favorite position. My education is also of great importance to me, so I have prioritized my studies and made an effort to learn new things. While in high school, I have taken on the challenge to learn computer coding. By the end of 9th grade, I received a Game Developer Certification with deep UI/UX interface knowledge. By the end of my junior year, I will be certified as a front-end and back-end App Developer. The training in computer science has provided me with the technical framework to understand business and technology advancement needs in my community. My desire to be an active contributor on and off the field however, goes beyond my perosnnal ambitions. So, starting Septmeber 2022, I have joined the South San Francisco Youth Commision to support, challenge and voice young people’s opinions from all across all community groups to help shape decisions about policies, city develoment and governance. Taken all together, I want to combine problem-solving and critical thinking skills, leadership skills from computer science and social science with the game of soccer in my own disticntive way.
