Charlene Tomasini '16 Recruiting Profile

I want to attend college to fulfill two lifetime aspirations; to be the first Tomasini grandchild to obtain a college degree and to compete as a collegiate soccer player.  I want to attend a college that will provide me with an opportunity to pursuit my academic goals and an opportunity to strive towards athletic excellence.

After observing my mom’s dedication and sacrifice in her career as a Registered Nurse, I have come to  value and respect  the health science field.   I intend to pursue various fields including nursing, physical therapy or community health.

  
I believe that I would contribute towards the success of a collegiate soccer program because I understand that success is obtainable when you have a strong work ethic and a teachable spirit. I have been able to use my passion, speed and leadership skills to advance my game.  As a striker on the Santa Cruz Jaws Competition Team and Anzar High School Varsity team, I have had the privilege of training under coaches who have collegiate experience. They have provided me with many challenges that have helped me obtain the skills required to excel on and off the field.

I am no stranger to the world of volunteering.  Since a child, my parents have instilled in me the importance of giving back.  Whether it was serving children at our church, tutoring 2nd graders, reffing the ever challenging U6 girls teams, collaborating with the yearbook staff or working with the incoming freshman as a Link Crew Leader, I have come to understand the importance of teamwork and its power to make change.  I have a love for people and a solution-oriented view of life which lends itself well on a soccer team.
