Great attitude and a pleasure to work with at camp. Keona brings energy to every session. Her knowledge of the game and work ethic stand out. Her awareness on the field and technical skills helps her create opportunities for teammates. As a 2027 grad, she still has time to develop physically and has the potential to become an elite player. She has a bright soccer career ahead of her.
Work on ability to receive the ball in different situations - Continue to work on receiving with pressure in different positions: defender on your back, on your side, on an angle and in front of you. If you can master receiving the ball in these positions, you will be an attacking asset at all times. Work on receiving with different parts of your foot in order to get faced up and going forward.
Work on tactical understanding of your position - College soccer is continuing to improve tactically and to play at the highest level you need to be able to think as quickly as possible. Watch college soccer and NWSL games to see player in your position and recognize what they do well. What are they doing before they receive the ball, when they have it, then once they release it? Can you build those things into your game?
Continue to work on overall fitness - If you are to play at the next level you need to be able to perform consistently for 90 minutes, twice a week. To do this you need to be in the best possible shape physically so you can stay, technically, tactically, and mentally sharp too.
