My name is Marissa Cirillo, and I am a junior (class of 2024) at Saint Mark’s High School in Wilmington, Delaware. I play for Delaware FC for club ball and Saint Mark’s for the spring season of high school soccer. Delaware, unlike many other states, plays girl’s high school soccer in the spring. During the fall, I run cross country which I have a state championship in(2021). I have been the starting goalie (#0) for every game since I have been at Saint Mark’s, and have played all but 60 minutes in my high school career. My freshman year I earned first team all conference (12 shutouts/18 games) and helped my team to get an undefeated record. Unfortunately we fell just short in the state championship. During the time in between my freshman and sophomore year, I worked really hard to improve my handling and distribution skills. My sophomore year I earned first team all conference again, and helped my team to achieve a record of 13-2. We played all the way through the playoffs and were able to avenge our loss the prevention year to the same team and became STATE CHAMPIONS!! I am a very hard worker and work well with others. I have found that group training has improved my game much more quickly than independent training. I am a competitive player, but also am very supporting and having other people to train with can push me and allow me to push others to become the best they can be. I look forward to getting to know you and your school. See you on the pitch!!
