Karla Guzman-Ortiz '22 Recruiting Profile

There are many goals I would like to achieve academically and in my area of sport. One of the biggest things I would like to achieve is to earn a starting position early into my college experience. I would like to be one of the top goalkeepers the university could have. Something that I think is particularly important too is to hopefully graduate with a master's degree in the study I would major in. Since I was a little kid, I dreamed about graduating with a master’s degree just like my mom, although I am certainly going in quite a different career path. I want to work for the FBI or CIA or even work for the secret service. I have always said that if I do not make it to a professional soccer league, I will work for the best homeland security program.  I have always felt like I should be able to help people who cant protect themselves. Although recently I have been more attracted to staying inside the sports world, I would  like to study sports management and earn a degree in that field, I do not want to steer too far from soccer after I graduate form college. Soccer is the sport that I could not leave behind even after I cant play it anymore.

I hope to improve academically and in my sport, one day play soccer professionally and train to the best of my ability in this new stage of my life in college, it has been my dream since I was a little girl, but my biggest goal I hope to achieve is to work for the FBI after hopefully studying criminology to the best of my abilities.
