Leah Varela '24 Recruiting Profile

I am not the type of player who backs away from a challenge or who shy's away from something that might be difficult.  I am a very coachable player who craves new challenges that will help me expand my knowledge and make me a better soccer player.  I have always understood that nothing will ever be given to me and that time and effort is the key to continuously improving my game.  My coaches have always told me that my work ethic, work rate and my composure is something that is very unique and something that can not be taught.  I see myself as a leader on and off the pitch and I work to set the right example for my teammates and pears.  I currently have a 4.47 GPA and my academics are very important to me.  I have been a part of multiple clubs including UNICEF, National Junior Honor Society and I currently serve on the Girls Academy League Player Advisory Panel.
