Maria Alejandra Vallejos '21 Recruiting Profile

As a child of an immigrant, I am very proud of who I am and what my father had to go through to achieve his current place in life. I love being half Chilean and half American because I have two places I get to call home (and two soccer teams to root for). Ever since I was born, I've always traveled to Chile. I love having the opportunity to travel to Chile almost every year. It is something that has shaped me from a young age. Being Latina has had a major influence on my life. It is what brought me to play soccer. Always watching fútbol with my dad and brother every Saturday showed me what I wanted to do: play soccer. After years of begging my dad, who also played when he was growing up, he finally allowed me to play and ever since then I have never stopped. And I don't plan on stopping any time soon.
