Goalkeeper Traini...
Goalkeeper Emma R...During the summer of 2021 I was given the opportunity to play for The United Women's Soccer League 2 under Sunrise Sting, its inaugural season. At first, I was only supposed to have a training position, learning with collegiate athletes of all levels. I had to adapt to their level of play, and earn their respect as a 16 year old player. Fortunately for me, when our first game of the season neared, no colligate goalkeeper have come to play, it was only me. I was able to rise to the challenge and keep a clean sheet for our home opener. After that, I continued to have an amazing season with these women. I played 5 out of the 8 games in the season keeping a clean sheet through out all of them, even having a goal assist. As a result, we tied in our league for first, only to lose to a team who scored more goals than us. This opportunity has defined me as a player and I cannot wait to play in the collegiate level to experience this again.
I have been playing soccer competitively for the past 7 years. I have played in several tournaments, Copa Americana Junior Elite, The Disney Soccer Showcase Series, Capital Area Soccer League (CASL), Florida State Premiere League (FSPL), Weston Cup, Palm Beach Cup, and the Commissioners Cup. In addition, I was named the Westglades Middle School (Parkland, FL) Female Athlete of the Year in 2019.
My love of the game of soccer has only grown and I cannot imagine my life without playing soccer. I can only display my love through the blood, sweat, broken fingers and tears I leave on and off the field. The hard work and dedication I have for the sport of soccer is the same solid worth ethic I have for my academics. My name is Emma Ramsingh and I am a Junior at Cardinal Gibbons High School, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, I am in the top 10% of my class with a 4.7 cumulative grade point average and through hard work and dedication I would love to be your goalkeeper!
