Maya Stephen '15 Recruiting Profile

On the field I am a leader. Ive been captain of my high school team since freshman year because I have the ability to hold my team together and essentially direct them in the right direction. I was named first team all county area because i am an aggressive defender. Id like to say that as a center back, I have a lot of pressure during a game. And with this pressure, i believe I do a well maintaining my focus and successfully doing my job. Similar to on the field, in the classroom I am seen as a leader as well. I am in honors and advanced placement classes. Im in the top 10% of my junior class and Id like to think that determination is the main factor that has gotten me to this very point. I am in student government, national honor society and i am secretary of asian honor society.  I aspire to be a writer, besides soccer, its the only other thing that allows me to express myself. Although my brain most of the time is hitting the books, Im not lying when I say that my heart belongs to the game. Soccer has been my driving force ever since I was a child. Without a doubt, I know that in college I wont only be a power house behind a desk. but I'll also be one in front of the goal.
