Cecilia Pino '23 Recruiting Profile

I aspire to attend a college that is the best fit for me both academically and athletically. Academics are an extreme priority of mine, as they have shaped who I am today. I strive to achieve excellence in all I do, both on and off the field, as a person, player, and student. I am also a very competitive person, which is part of the reason I love the game of soccer so much. I feel as I fit right into the ambitious atmosphere, and I especially enjoy being challenged, not only on the field, but in life as well. Challenges are what provide experiences for me to grow, and, even if I fail, I will still learn from that mistake and improve the next time I face a similar scenario. I am also extremely passionate and dedicated, and I believe that everything should be done with a purpose, which is why I work hard in every class I take and at every training session/game I attend, as one can only improve if they put in the work. I also feel that my character has flourished and matured as my eyes have been opened through service; helping the less fortunate through service events with my school, family, and teammates has taught me to be grateful for all I am blessed to have in life, whether that be an education, the ability to play sports, or even a family who loves and supports me unconditionally. I am also a very coachable person, which is why, as a soccer player, I am able to adapt quickly to new information coaches relay, and off of the field I am also able to take in constructive criticism and do my best to make use of the advice I am being given. Additionally, some of my core values include honesty, passion, commitment, and communication, which all go hand-in-hand. If one communicates, they should do so honestly, and if one is passionate, they must show commitment in order to succeed. All of these values have guided me along my life journey, and will continue to shine as my light as I unfold the mysterious path of life, whether it be my athletic future, academic future, or personal life ahead of me. I am excited to see what my academic/athletic future has in store for me, and I can assure you that I will be 100% committed in ALL I do, both on and off the field.
