Soccer is a huge part of my life, but I know that it means much more in the long run than just 90 minutes on the pitch. It has taught me that there's always going to be someone out there bigger, faster, or stronger than me, but there isn't going to be anyone that works as hard as me nor someone that is as dedicated as me. This mindset has helped me immensely through my school work as well. I entered into the IB program freshman year with a superiority complex that proved to be a major obstacle academically. I thought I was "naturally" smart so I didn't need to work as hard, and it seemed like all my focus was directed in pointless things. The start of my sophomore year I kicked into gear and started spending twice as much time on my schoolwork, and from that point on I haven't received a grade lower than an A in any subject. Sometimes I get upset that "freshmen me" ruined my "Perfect Cumulative GPA" but now I think that my GPA speaks to my character. It shows that I'm not perfect but I will work as hard as I have to for the end result. I believe I would be an excellent addition to your team because I'm not a perfect athlete, and that's what makes me so great.
