Hannah Cardozo '18 Recruiting Profile

    My education is just as important to me as my athletic career. Coming from the International Baccalaureate program, I have experience with incredibly rigorous learning environments and enjoy testing myself inside the classroom just as much as on the field. I see college as a place I can grow academically. I strive to reach my goals inside the classroom working with teammates and coaches that push me to be my best on and off the field.

    I have played soccer since I learned to walk and fell in love with the sport immediately. Traveling and watching my siblings play made me realize at a very young age that I wanted to play soccer in college and I have been working towards that goal ever since. I joined a competitive club team when I was 8 years old and as time went on, I began training harder, longer, and more frequently, to get myself to peak performance. I have remained a captain of my team for the past 5 years and pride myself in helping my team advance further in state tournaments every year. High school soccer has also been an amazing experience that has given me a taste of what playing in college may be like and has only made me want to further my soccer career even more.  I have been the starting goalkeeper for my school since my freshman year and made first team all-conference. These accomplishments prompt me to work harder toward becoming the best athlete I can be. 

    In addition to soccer and academics, I am involved in several extracurricular activities and enjoy being actively involved in my community. I have participated in Relay for Life for the past three years and was a team captain this past year. I regularly volunteer at children’s events and organizations such as Feeding America.  I am a caring, compassionate person that enjoys helping others. I do not shy away from leadership positions and have no problem taking the lead in a situation if need be. Ultimately, I enjoy pushing myself in all aspects of life and am looking for a school that will aid me in bettering myself as a student, athlete, and overall person
