My name is Lauren Twilley and I am currently a junior at Sickles High School in Tampa, Florida. I have been playing soccer for around 6 years now. I am currently playing on the 02/03 girls FCL1 team at Florida Premier FC. I also play varsity soccer for my high school team and this is my third year on the team. I mainly play outside mid but I also play forward, outside back, and center mid. I enjoy playing many positions, utilizing my speed and my understanding of the game wherever I can. Soccer is my passion and not only do I love playing soccer but I also enjoy watching games. It doesn’t matter what league or if it’s men’s or women’s I always try to watch any game when I have the chance.
Academically, I am an A student, and I currently have a 4.0 unweighted GPA. I am a very good student, and I take my education pretty seriously. I consider myself a compassionate, cheerful, and understanding person. I always try to put in maximum effort, and I always try to stay positive in every aspect of life. I love challenges as many have impacted my life for the better. Last year in the first game of State Cup I sustained a traumatic double mandibular fracture and required treatment including maxillomandibular fixation. While this is not anything an athlete would want to go through, it was an eye-opener. I gained a renewed perspective, increased motivation, and an improved ability to cope with obstacles. I couldn’t wait to get back out on the field with my team, and I pushed through the pain the best I could. I am not 100% decided on my major, but I do know I would love to pursue a Health/Medicine major in college as I love helping and communicating with others.
