Personal Statement

One of my collegiate goals and aspirations includes going to a medical college to be an occupational therapist. Occupational therapy is a career path I would like to take because I love working with people. That leads to another goal I have for college. I want to develop relationships with friends that I will know for life. I would like to get my graduate degree and also a master's degree in occupational therapy. This will help me find the job that I need to make a living for myself and my family in the future. Another one of my collegiate goals is to have a 3.7 GPA at the end of my college years. I am very confident that I can manage my time between school and sports because I have played for a club soccer team for six years. This helps me with time management because I have to go to practices almost every day and have to do quality work for school. Another one of my goals is to become a skilled soccer player by going to many practices and working on my agility skills. By going to conditioning practices and having determination to work on my foot skills at home I can achieve this goal. My first collegiate goal was to become an occupational therapist and to go to college to earn a degree for that career. When I go to college I want to focus on my career so that I can have a preparation for another journey ahead of me. Focusing on school is important, and also my sports.

Sports are important because it gives me a break from school work and I get to work at something I love. Soccer allows me to feel free and has had a place in my heart since I was just three years old. One of the reasons I am a good candidate for this team is because I am experienced. I played club soccer for six years and this year I am on an RPL level team for Southern Soccer Academy. Training and practicing my fitness and footwork skills are big for me. One of the reasons I am a good candidate for this team is because I am determined and prepared to work as hard as I can to be on the team. Commitment is another thing that I believe in. When I am on a soccer team I am always committed to practice and games. These are the reasons why I am a good candidate for this team.

What makes me different from other recruits in character is my positive attitude and my tenacity. My positive attitude helps my other teammates keep going even if we are down a goal. I try to give them criticism that helps them succeed and makes the community of the team better. My tenacity makes me better at my skills and helps my teammates get better by making them stronger. I am fast and persistent. When you are playing soccer you need to have a good mind so you can play fast. There is a maximum on how fast your feet can move, but your brain can move as fast as you want it to. My mind is quick and I always know where the ball is going before it hits my foot. That is one of the reasons I am different than other candidates in athletics. Persistence is also a characteristic of me. I will never stop and get up even if I fall down. On the soccer field you need persistence because you are going to make mistakes. You are going to want to give up sometimes but you can't. You always have to try your best

. Academics are important to me because I am in an I.B. program at Douglas County High School. It is a hard program that I am willing to do to get into a good college. Some people are fine with getting a bad grade. To me, I strive to make straight A's and that makes me different than my other candidates.
