I have been playing soccer ever since I was 5 years old. I played on a Co-ed team until I was 13, I believe it helped my game and made me work harder as most boys don't want to pass the ball to a "girl" I had to prove myself to them which I did. My freshmen year at my high school out of a team of 35 I was 1 of 2 freshmen to play in varsity games also received my pin and Varsity Letter. I played both of the 2 JV games my school had. I recently made the team for a Travel Club Premier team. I've played many positions on the field but my favorites are Outside Back and Defensive Mid-Field. Besides soccer I also play basketball which I've played for just about as long as I've played soccer. This past year I played my first season on my schools volleyball team. Soccer is my go to sport and it is where my heart is at.
I knew I wanted to play college soccer when I was little. What makes me different from the other players is that every single day, I want to become the best player I can be. I learn from my mistakes and make sure to correct them. If I am struggling on a drill, I make sure to ask the coach and/or my teammates for advice on how to fix my problem areas. I am always open to hear how I can better my game. On the field I am different person, off the field I am silly, funny, enjoy laughing and making everyone laugh around me. When I walk on the field a switch goes off and I am aggressive and focused. My nickname on my coed team was Chey-Man which I took as a compliment from my male teammates.
I am very close to my family. My mom is a huge influence on me and she is the reason why I play sports to this day. She has instilled in me since I was little that if I start something I am not allowed to quit I need to finish what I start and I need to give 110% to it.
Besides sports I have a love for the fine arts, I have played the flute for almost 5 years. I love to draw and write. Just this year (2016) one of my poems were selected and published.
In the future, my goals are to play soccer in college, with hopes of playing overseas and hopefully playing in the Olympics. When my time in the game is over I'd still like to be as close to it as possible. Which is why I would like to get my Masters in Sports Medicine or becoming a doctor in Sports Medicine while getting my Minor in Journalism.
