Being from the islands, sports has always played a huge part in my life. Ever since I was five, sports were my everything. I was always apart of something. I’ve played a variety of sports including volleyball, basketball, softball, and soccer. Although I enjoyed playing these different sports, I have always had a passion for soccer. Throughout my soccer career, I have been on multiple teams and clubs.
During my sophomore year of high school, I was given the opportunity to play on the varsity girls soccer team. Deciding to move up was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I got the chance to play alongside some of the states most talented players while learning from them. Being able to go to practices and trainings helped my growth as a player tremendously. Watching my teammates play at such a higher level inspired me to play harder. It taught me valuable lessons such as teamwork, leadership, and accountability. Junior year is where I was able to practice and improve my play. I practiced hard to start and maintain my position on the left outside back where I got to protect my goal and assist on plays. This season we made it to the D-II Hawaii state championships. I am looking forward to my last year as a high school athlete.
Having the chance to play at a college level has been a dream of mine before I could remember. Therefore, being given the opportunity to play and further my education at a higher level would be a huge accomplishment for me academically and athletically.
