Personal Statement
As an athlete, I feel everyone has gone through some type of challenge. Whether it be an injury or something else. Personally, I have faced the challenge of being judged based on my height, a couple of years ago I was cut from my old soccer team because I was too short. I know it seems crazy to judge someone’s skill level based on their height, but that’s exactly what happened. However, at this point where most people would take that loss and give up, I took this loss and turned it into my passion. I used this to strive to get better and not in the way to drink more milk and hopefully grow but to prove that I am a good player and show them just what they lost. I started training on my own every day even when it started to get cold and was snowing. My sister even called me crazy for being out in the cold, but I just called myself dedicated. I am the type of person to not get down on myself for failing but to learn from that failure and grow not only as an athlete but as a person. This makes me special because I have a different mindset than most. I use the mindset to spread positivity not only on myself but the people around me because what good is being negative gonna do when there are a bunch of opportunities right in front of you. When it comes to me and my team communication and personal connections are an essential aspect for me not only on the field but off it too. I feel as though not only are my teammate’s players but they are friends and altogether a family.
