My name is Sofia Migon, I am 5’7 and 140 lbs, and an attacking midfielder/forward. Since the beginning of my Freshman year soccer season, I’ve been a starter on varsity. My role on the team has spanned from a strong leader, supportive teammate, and competitive player. I enforce an environment where the team can feel comfortable yet are consistently pushed, on and off the field. I believe I am a unique player in terms of my attitude, leadership, skill, coachability, and drive.
Soccer has been an essential facet of my life since I was 4 years old. Starting at such an early age, soccer has brought so much beauty and greatness to my life that went unnoticed. Pursuing a sport for virtually my whole life, soccer became something I challenged myself to consistently improve. It simultaneously gave me confidence, not only physically, but with groups. It also allowed me to have mental strength, perseverance, and collaboration skills.
In the initial months of the pandemic, I was unable to play organized soccer. The missing presence in my life made me realize its importance in my life. In response, I took my training to the next level by participating in semi-private training sessions, increasing my intensity exponentially. This process required more effort than I could have ever fathomed, however it only confirmed how badly I wanted to improve, how much I truly love the sport, and my passion to pursue it.
