I have learned all about life with a ball at my feet. I started playing when I was around five years old, and my love for soccer has only increased with age. I first fell in love with the game because it served as a form of self-expression for me like nothing else had previously.
On the field I have the ability to lose myself in my actions and showcase a style of play that is uniquely mine: one that incorporates not only athleticism and strength, but a more skillfully creative and abstract approach to the game. From an early age the concept of learning how to play with a team but still possess individual skill was highlighted, although not without difficulty along the way. In developing this manner of play there were seasons and tournaments where my team did not win a single game. While discouraging initially, it was important for us to learn to play the game correctly and with skill. Not to mention, our experiences only increased our desire to win and be successful. The way I was taught to play soccer, along with my creative mindset proved to be beneficial in my overall development. Whenever I play -- whether in a game or practice setting -- I always strive to push my limits to see just what I am capable of and what I can work on further. I constantly work to defy others’ expectations of me as a player.
My ongoing passion and drive for soccer are two aspects of which I am most proud because I think they provide an accurate model for some of my core values both on and off the field. In almost everything I do the qualities of hard work, dedication, and continued desire to improve are essential to the way in which I learn and perform. These characteristics also transfer over to my schoolwork and academics where I also aim to do the most I can and showcase my best work.NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the exclusive athletic recruiting network that educates, assists, and connects, families, coaches and companies so they can save time and money, get ahead and give back.
