Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Kaleia Hartman. I have various aspirations and collegiate goals! A few of my goals would be to continue to grow dramatically in my soccer skills. I would enjoy to get into a college that not only has a good soccer program,  hoping to get a full-ride scholarship, but also good academically! Anyone can be a good candidate, but what separates me from others is I am determined to get better at whatever is set in front of me. Whether it has to do with my skills in academics, athletic and etc! My grades are very serious to me! Anything below a B- is considered failing in my mind. I try my best to maintain a 3.5 throughout my years of school. Although there are very great players out there who most likely practice everyday like me, I feel as if i'm still set apart from others. All my life I have been doubted, so it is very important to me to make sure I prove not only others, but myself that I will one day be on tv playing for a good team. What also sets me apart is I started playing soccer later than most girls. I started playing in fifth grade and since then I have never stopped touching the ball. It also means that I have to work even harder to stand out (in a good way). Following this, my highschool team is not well-known for girls soccer and are just recently getting better at soccer. This also give me another opportunity to show/stand out to others! Since my highschool team is "not well-known", I have to do whatever it takes to get noticed!
