My name is Sidney Facey, I'm 16 years old and have been playing soccer since the age of 8. I started playing competitively at the age of 10 with the Wexford Soccer Club. Later on, by age 13, I was offered the opportunity to try out for the Guyana Women's national soccer team and made the U15 roster. In 2018 I travelled to Guyana then onto the IMG Academy, Bradenton Florida to play in a CONCACAF tournament; we placed second in our group. In 2019, I played in the 1st round of the CONCACAF qualifiers for the U17 World Cup in Curacao, and just recently in October I played at IMG Academy in Florida in the u17 CONCACAF world cup qualifiers and have since moved on to the round of 16 which is scheduled for late January early February. Since 2019I have been playing for UMSC and am the current co-captain of the team. My team would describe me as assertive, strong-willed, goal-oriented, quick thinking, and a good leader and as a player; fast, strong, and can read the field well.
I have always wanted to continue my play of soccer as I move onwards from high school and even professionally in America or Europe. I am striving to play on a D1 team and use my assets to help the team succeed, win a championship or two. I would love to play in the Womens world cup and even win a gold medal in the Olympics. I stand out because I have national-level experience and I am an overall great asset to any team or school.
