Playing collegiate soccer would be a great privilege and it would allow me an opportunity to try and achieve the highest level that I can in the sport I love. Soccer has given me fun, friendships and fulfillment. There is a great sense of accomplishment when you can achieve success as a team and you know that you have contributed towards that success. My experience with soccer has also taught me invaluable life lessons and skills that help me both on and off the pitch. Soccer has taught me that you need to put in time and hard work to see results and improvements in yourself. It has also shown me how to work with and rely on others, regardless of the circumstance. I have learned to be resilient and keep pushing even when I or my team are struggling. Playing college soccer would help me continue to improve and mature as an athlete and as a person.
Consistent feedback that I have received from all my coaches, in soccer and other sports, is that I am very "coachable". My philosophy is that I have to earn the right to play and belong to a team. I take responsibility for my actions and my performance. I respond to positive and negative feedback, because I see it as a way to improve. As someone who has always been a defender, I know how to be a team player and play for my team. What I can promise any coach that I play for is that I will always give 100% to be the best player and teammate that I can, and I will always be the one who leaves everything on the field.
