I am currently studying Nursing at Cecil College in North East, MD. I played soccer at Cecil for two years, and now have two years of eligibility to complete my career at a higher level.
I played soccer for Bohemia Manor High School in Chesapeake City, MD for 3 of my 4 years while in high school. I started as an outside wing my freshman year, and then played as an outside back both my junior and senior years. From high school I decided to commit and play at my local community college, Cecil College. At Cecil I played center back my entire freshman year, and was nominated to be captain of the defense in 2016. This past year I was nominated by my coach to be the only team captain, and continued to play center back as well as striker. My sophomore year at Cecil we did not have a team because of a lack of players on the roster. From this, I decided to spend my time practicing with our men's team in order to prepare for the following year. I was able to gain confidence as a player from practicing with guys, and also improved my skills tremendously.
Playing at Cecil taught me to have patience and how to become a leader, especially when recruiting players that had little experience with the sport. I put in a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication to the team, especially during my second year when I really had to focus on helping our coach recruit players in order to rebuild the program. When it comes to character, I think I stand out from a lot of players because I am not selfish, and I look at ways that the team can come together to benefit and win as one. I love being a part of a team, and I get along really well with everyone. My goal is to move forward with my soccer career to go on to the next level, and continue to improve my game every day.
