I am Taylor McGowan, "TMac," and I am a 2005 player, graduating in 2023. I am 5"10' and I play primarily as a defensive mid for the Maryland Elite '03 team in Calvert County, MD; I also play attacking mid and target. I am known for my accuracy in passing and shooting, as well as my ability to get the pass off successfully and quickly to my team mates.
I am passionate about soccer and I have always wanted to play soccer at the college level. My strongest attributes on the field are my ability to see and use the full field, and my ability to accurately put the ball where it needs to be, whether short or long. I am a firm believer in communication on and off the field and understand the importance of teamwork to be successful.
I started playing soccer at six years old and quickly progressed to travel teams that allowed me to play 'up' with the older kids. This made me very competitive and dedicated to not only improving my skills but also to being the best team mate that I could be. I have had the privilege of playing on some of the best teams in my area with some of the best coaches.
My goals and aspirations for college is to major in chemistry, in an effort to become a medical doctor or physicians assistant. I excel in my classes taking mostly Honors and AP courses. As a recipient of the Post-911 GI Bill, I am disciplined and passionate about excelling in college to make my family proud.
