Since I can remember, I have been playing soccer. As a little girl, I danced, did gymnastics, was a Girl Scout, and played soccer. Time passed, and most of my other interests fell to the wayside, except soccer. For the majority of my life, I have been on at least two soccer teams, sometimes three. My passion for the game has always been a part of me. As I have matured, my passion for the game has grown to a great desire to play soccer in college!
As a player, I pride myself on having excellent field vision. I can read the game and anticipate the opposing plays, allowing myself to be in the right place at the right time. It also allows me to have the ability to direct my fellow defenders to get where they need to be. Being a defender either as a starting center back for the last three years on my high school team or an outside back on my club team, I thrive under pressure. I know how to keep my composure and always concentrate on the game. I have the skillset and the speed to make great passes and the ability to dribble the ball quickly up the field and set up the offense with opportunities to score. As a great defender, my decision-making on the field has given me great success. I am thankful for all the recognition I have received during my career.
Being a team player has always been important to me. Having good leadership skills, and being a starter since I was a freshman, has given me the skill set needed to lead by example, encourage my teammates, and strive to be the hardest-working player both on and off the field. I'm proud to have the opportunity to be captain of my high school team, continuing to lead and mentor younger players.
Working hard is something I do naturally. Outside of soccer, I am on the indoor track team, most recently qualified for states in the 4x200 relay. I volunteer in school for Best Buddies, and outside of school, I volunteer at My Brother's Keeper. I also work part-time at a ski store, and on any downtime, I can be found in New Hampshire skiing. Academically, I work equally hard for my grades. I maintain a high GPA that includes AP classes and have earned honor roll every semester of high school.
As I prepare for my final year of high school and look toward the future, the idea of attending a college where I can pursue engineering or architecture and continue to play college ball would be a dream come true! One that I have been preparing for as long as I can remember.
