My name is Gianna Grace Thorne, and I am a dedicated student-athlete from Hull, Massachusetts, graduating in 2028.
Soccer has been my lifelong passion since I first stepped onto the field at four years old. Ever since then, I’ve had one dream: to play soccer in college and one day professionally. Soccer isn’t just a sport to me—it’s a part of who I am. I live it, breathe it, and love every challenge it brings.
I have over a decade of competitive soccer experience, including ten years of club play. I began my club career in 2015 and served as team captain during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. After that team disbanded, I transitioned to New England Force (formerly Mass City), where I currently play on the 2010 DPL team. This new chapter has presented incredible opportunities: competing in the prestigious Jefferson Cup in Virginia (March 2025) and being invited to play up with the 2009 DPL team at Nationals in Minnesota (June 2025). In addition to club soccer, I have also earned a spot on the 2010 Massachusetts Olympic Development Program (ODP) team. With ODP, I train year-round and competed in the East Coast Tournament in Pennsylvania (June 2025). I also participate in the Bay State Games during the summer to continue developing my skills and challenging myself.
My passion for soccer drives me, but I am a well-rounded athlete and student. At Hull High School, I was a varsity athlete as an 8thgrader/freshman, competing in both soccer and basketball, all while maintaining honor roll and/or high honors each term - a reflection of my strong academic foundation. I take pride in balancing my academics with my athletic commitments.
Outside of sports and school, I love physical fitness, running, pushing myself to stay in top shape. I’m a go-getter in every sense of the word.I bring leadership, intensity, and consistency to every team I join. I’m a competitor at heart, born and raised that way, but I also love the camaraderie of team sports and the energy I bring to the field with my positive, humorous personality.
I’m looking for a college program where I can continue growing as an athlete, contribute to a competitive team environment, and pursue academic excellence. Soccer is more than a game to me—it’s my motivation, my focus, and my future.
