Hi my name is Aidan MacDonald. I have been playing soccer my whole life and it has become a huge part of who I am. Soccer has taught me so much about who I am as a person, and who I want to be. From as far back as I can remember I always liked to push myself when it came to soccer, whether it was playing up on my sisters teams, or just focusing on improving myself. Soccer has always been an escape for me, no matter what is happening in life, it gives you a chance to put it all away and just play the game I love.
I play center midfield and I absolutely love it. Being in the middle of the field has taught me a lot as a player. First it always taught me to always be thinking, so when I get the ball I can be ready for anything. It also taught me to think about how the other team is set up, and what balls need to be played to beat their defense. It has also taught me how to control the ball so I do not lose it, and to be aggressive so I can win the balls in the middle.
As a player I am truly determined. I hate losing and I will do whatever it takes to win. I love to push myself, I hate quitting and giving up. Soccer has also given me discipline. Discipline to know what is right and wrong, to know what is good or bad for me. Soccer has also made me a better person. It has shown me how to be a good sport, and how to treat your team and coach. Nothing bothers me more than watching players argue with each other or disrespect their coaches.
I am different from other recruits because I truly love the game, and would be lost without it. It has been such a huge part of my life and has shaped the person I am today. The discipline and determination I learned on the field transferred into discipline and determination, in school, at work, and wherever else it is needed.
