Personal Statement
Hi, I am Samantha Sharp, I am 17 and a Junior at Bishop Fenwick High School. I am a driven and hardworking student-athlete. I am always setting new goals to push myself further in both my studies and my work on the soccer field. I am a player who is extremely coachable, versatile, and a team leader. I am a defensive player and can play multiple positions, such as outside back, center back, and a holding midfielder. I am on my high school’s varsity soccer team and I also play for the club Aztec on an Impact team. In my first year of playing varsity soccer as a freshman, my team won our conference, the CCL. Last year, we were lucky enough to have a full season and made it to finals. In 2021, my team had a successful year, we were undefeated in the regular season. After this season I was named as one of the captains of my team. My leadership and communication skills allowed me to be named a captain. Soccer has had such a big impact on my life, it has taught me leadership and communication skills, teamwork, and time management. I thrive on a busy schedule so being able to learn to manage both school and soccer was an important skill for me to have. I have always loved stepping onto the field with my team and playing with people who share the same love for soccer as I do.
When I am not playing soccer, I run hurdles for the Varsity Winter Track team and play Lacrosse. Also, I am a member of the National Honor Society and Rotary Interact Club. Along with being a Peer Leader at my school. Being driven on the soccer field, has lead to me to being very driven in the classroom. Currently, I have a 4.0 GPA.
I plan to take soccer to the next level in college and will continue to put the work in to do so.
Thanks for getting to know me!
