Emma Gilpin '27 Recruiting Profile

When I started playing soccer at age 4, I quickly learned that success doesn’t come easily. It is earned through consistent effort, discipline and a relentless drive to improve each day. I pride myself on my speed, agility and stamina, all of which I continue to develop through dedicated training. I’m a player who pushes herself to the limit, always wanting to be faster, stronger and smarter than I was the day before. My competitive spirit is matched only by my desire to win for my school, club and teammates which keeps me focused on achieving both my personal and team goals.

I have worked relentlessly to improve my technical skills, fitness and tactical understanding of the game. I pride myself on my ability to adapt to different playing styles. I strive to lead by example, whether I am starting or coming off the bench. I have shadowed and shut down the fastest player on opposing teams, I drawn multiple defenders to provide space to my teammates and I have scored when my team has needed me. I can and have played multiple positions on the field with no questions asked. My experience playing in various positions has given me a well-rounded perspective, enabling me to contribute to any role my coach asks or needs and my team requires. 

I am eager to take my passion to the collegiate level. My goal is to continue to develop my skills while being a key contributor to my team’s success. I am excited about the opportunity to push my limits, train and play with talented athletes and work towards excellence in all aspects of the game. Soccer is not just my passion, it’s a way of life for me and I am committed to bringing my very best to every challenge.
