Personal Statement
~~I think my love for the game has a huge impact on myself as a player. After playing soccer for 13 years I don’t know what I would do without it as it is second nature and a huge part of my life that I am not ready to give up. My versatility is one of my biggest strengths as I could probably play anywhere that I am needed on the field. No matter what position I just love being in the game and contributing to the team in any way possible. It is hard to have a favorite experience as a student athlete from tournament game goals, to last minute wins, to winning it in a shoot out, or my first varsity goal, there really is no other feeling in the world as good as these memories! Getting the opportunity to play in college would be a dream come true as I am a highly motivated player that would like to contribute to my team in my own way to make the team as successful as possible.
My academic performance also reflects me as a soccer player as I am a hard worker in the classroom and on the field and I know how to set my priorities. My GPA is a high 3.9 with many honors classes and I plan on continuing to excel in school. I have had the privilege of holding captainship for my school team and club team, as leadership and communication is also a huge strength of mine. In college I am really open, as I just want to stay in or close to New England and want to play soccer more than anything. I think giving up softball in high school was probably a milestone for me as I then knew I wanted to focus on a sport I love, and a sport I can go further in. This is also when my coach pushed me to be the best player on the field and to stand out, not just to do my job, but to go above and beyond to be successful. Having this mentality has helped me in everything I do and I hope that I am fortunate enough to carry this to a college team.
