My name is Colleen Curran, and I am an outside midfielder graduating in the class of 2023. When I first started playing soccer, I was only in kindergarten and it was there where I fell in love with the game. Now, I’m on Woburn Memorial High School’s varsity team, where I’ve been playing since my freshman year. I’ve also been playing club soccer for many years, currently playing for the FC Stars 2003/2004 team. Although I typically play as an outside midfielder, I am a very versatile player who also plays as a forward or anywhere in the midfield.
One of my strengths on the field is my speed. I can quickly create opportunities in the attacking-third, whether its beating defenders one on one to shoot from range or crossing into teammates from the wing with my left foot. Ever since freshman year, I’ve ran track for my high school’s varsity team, earning the Middlesex League All-Star title three times. (For indoor, I earned it for running the 55m hurdles, and outdoor my 4x400m relay team earned the recognition). I was also honored to attend New Balance Indoor Track Nationals this year with my Shuttle Hurdle Relay Team that holds two school records, and together we earned the title of All-Americans.
My dedication to being the best is proven on and off the field. Through my honors and AP classes, I have a 4.87 GPA. I consistently work hard and bring positivity wherever I go. I always strive to better myself and my community, which is why I’m a member of different clubs and organizations that focus on giving back.
When I envision my college experience, soccer is a crucial part of it. I’d love to play college soccer in an environment that challenges me not only on the field physically, but mentally and intellectually. I’m looking for a team with a supportive culture that works hard for the people around them. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile, and I look forward to speaking with you soon!
