PSG Michigan Gators 02 Orange: Note from club to the team about the Junior State Cup Game: Congratulations to Coach Mehrdad, his assistants: Coach Radek and Coach Lutzee, to the parents, and of course, the great players who brought another Cup to the great legacy of the Michigan Gators soccer club.
Coming out of the bracket of death, the Gators team had to defeat the Hawks, the Jags, and the highly ranked Waza East team to take the title. All the games were highly spirited and the Gator players had to adjust to the speed of play and the significant talents of the other squads. In the end, the Gators were able to showcase the Gator brand of high risk, quick passing offense that was fortified by a strong backline and a dominant keeper. In the final, the Gators shut down the Waza team and defeated them 2 to 0.
The Premier Soccer Group is very proud of the U12 team. Even under high pressure against top level defenders, they were able to play an entertaining style of soccer. They didn't just boot the ball. They were composed under pressure and allowed all their skills and training to take the forefront in the biggest game of the year.
Great job ladies! Great job Coach Mehrdad!
