Addison Byers '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Addison and I’m a 17-year-old High School Senior, and I have been playing soccer since I was 4, and started travel/club at age 9, and have been with my current team since June of 2020. For my club team, I start a good handful of games as the 7 or 11, so typically a wing or Outside Midfielder. My first two years of high school soccer, I was on JV. I bounced back and forth between Striker and Center Mid, but me and my high school coaches have figured out over the past two years that I am best suited as a Center Mid (10) and I don't even consider myself a striker anymore. I was also named one of two JV team captains my sophomore year. My Junior year I was named to varsity and started a few games, spending pretty much all my time as a 10, occasionally playing the wing. I ended with 2 goals and 3 assists on the season and at our banquet I was praised for my step up in aggression and my high soccer IQ. I want to play soccer in college where I know I am going to be competing for playing time, the program feels like and is a family and is always willing to continue growing, a place I can be happy at for all four years. As for myself right now, I like to think I am pretty open minded when it comes to colleges in regard to location and division level. I'm a pretty versatile player and am willing to try different position, for my club team when we are short on defenders, I am usually my club coaches first pick as a replacement, and I believe I can bring that to any college team as well as my leadership qualities and knowledge of the game.
