Personal Statement
I am a very competitive person, and have found a lot of success in life through hard work. I have been a three sport varsity athlete since freshman year. I have maintained a 4.2 GPA while being involved in NHS, Student council, Mock Trial, and I am the business editor of the yearbook. By Junior year I have already taken 5 Ap classes and succeeded in those as well. Any task that is given to me I give it my all, and do what is necessary to be the best. I am very easy to get along with and fit comfortably in any social situation. I am not afraid to speak up, and have attended many leadership conferences paid for by my school. My parents taught me that three things are important as a grow up 1) citizenship 2) academics ,and 3) family. However I have grown to add another important component in my life, and that is 4) soccer. I have played soccer ever since I was 6, and have played on almost every travel team in the Nationals club. When ever someones goaly gets hurt I am the sub they call up. I did not roster on any prestigious teams in the nationals club because I usually pass card on 2-3 teams a season for free, my parents could not afford the large main club fees, they told me I could not play any other sports, and I grew up playing with Nationals St. Clair 00 black. Although they may not be the best in the state, they are some of my best friends. By rostering on a worse team I had a lot of opportunities to perfect my game, by getting more game situation shots. I have learned a lot of life lessons through sports, but no sport has pushed my limits like cross country. We run 3-8 miles everyday from june to november. I was the #4 varsity runner on my team. Success in cross country is purely based on determination and hard work. I started out last on JV as a freshman with a 5k (3.1 miles) time of 28:45 and finished my Junior year #4 on Varsity with a PR of 22:50. I would love to continue playing soccer in college, I know I can be an asset to any program if given the chance.
