Personal Statement
My collegiate goal is to find a good biomedical engineering program and have the opportunity to play soccer competitively. I am a good candidate for a team because I'm a very hard worker, a pesky defender who marks well, and as a former track athlete, my speed allows me to cover ground and defend plays well over a large area. I'm relatively new to the sport having joined a soccer team for the 1st time at 12 years old and, while I am competitive with other girls pursuing college opportunities, I don't believe I've reached my full potential yet.
What makes me unique are my academic strengths. I was born in 2004 but I graduate in 2021 which is a year earlier than most people my age. Even then, in my first two years of high school, I've completed 5 AP classes including AP Calculus and AP Biology, and received an award as an AP Scholar with Distinction from the College Board. At the beginning of 10th grade, as a 14 year old, I scored a 35 on the ACT and 1470 on the SAT without a test prep program. I am also a Student Council Vice President and a Student Ambassador, and I have other volunteer activities I enjoy.
I believe my distinct academic profile and my strong and still increasing soccer abilities make me a good fit for schools looking for a top student who can contribute on and off the soccer field.
