Emily Schumacher '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Emily Schumacher, I am a 5'11", 140 pound outside midfielder. Throughout my soccer career, I have played every position with the exception of goalkeeper. Ever since my first year of soccer, at the age of six, I have grown a strong love and passion for the game. I am a loyal, committed, and dedicated player, with a never give up attitude.   I am an offensive player that aggressively contributes to defensive tasks, and when I lose the ball, I don’t quit until possession is regained. My ability to see the field and where the play will develop is something I think is an asset to my team. I am a team player on and off the field by motivating my team, providing positive leadership, and direction to my teammates are very important to me. I also believe by having a bond with each member of the team is crucial because this ensures that everyone is included and most of all supported because my team is my second family. I am constantly improving my game to grow as a player whenever possible because I’ve always had the drive to play college soccer and I am hoping that my hard work and determination will pay off. 

As well as wanting to play at the highest level possible on the field, I set very high goals for myself in the classroom. Besides my required classes, I am currently taking one college course and three other non-required science classes, which I aim for straight A’s every semester.I want a college where I can play the game that I love and still receive the best education possible to further pursue a career in the medical field. I am a dedicated student-athlete and I am working diligently to make my dreams become a reality.
