Abby Feddema '25 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a Senior at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School and have been playing soccer since I was 7 years old. I started playing in a recreational league until I was 9 when I made the change to travel soccer through the club Central Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (CMYSA). Since then, I have played on my high school's Varsity team as a starter since 8th grade. I fulfilled my role as a captain my Junior year and have been selected for Senior year captain as well. I have been playing Soccer for the greater part of my life and have grown to love it as well as the relationships I've made with teammates, coaches, and trainers. 

I'm a very determined athlete, practicing individually outside of organized team practices often. For positions, I mainly play the 6 (Defending Midfield) or a 10 (Attacking Midfield). Growing up, I started off playing defensive positions for club and forward positions in middle school soccer. As I transferred to more competitive programs, I've found the spot where I thrive the most (Midfield) but remain a well-rounded athlete. 

Since 2021, I've been playing on League 1 First Division and Premier teams through CMYSA. In 2023, I had the amazing opportunity to play for the 2007 Minnesota Olympic Development Program (ODP) and travel to St. Louis, Missouri for a Midwest tournament. I learned how to play at a faster pace and with more confidence from this experience. I also had the chance to meet and play with the best players all around the Midwest. 

Unfortunately, In October 2023 I tore my ACL and Meniscus causing an interruption to my soccer career. I had surgery later that month and am currently 4 months into my recovery journey. I still have a desire to play soccer at the collegiate level thanks to the support of my amazing coaches, friends, parents, and physical therapists. In my downtime, I have constructed 2 highlight videos from my high school sophomore and junior seasons that are available to watch on my profile as I will not be able to attend any ID camps in the near future. 

Throughout my educational career, I've been interested in Sciences but am not set on a major or a future profession quite yet. I would like to explore more into Environmental Sciences, Kinesiology, Radiology, and related topics. Overall, I am top 5 in my class with a 4.29 GPA with an ambition to learn new things to the best of my ability.
