My name is Kianna Eichhorst, I also go by " Kiki" and I am the goalkeeper for the Willmar, MN Girls High School Soccer team. Throughout my youth and Middle school, I played the Forward position, but during the transition to High school I decided to switch to Goalkeeper. My freshman year, our Girls team just graduated a 4-year starter at GK and they didn't have a strong backup (had troubles of self-confidence and commitment). After talking with my parents, I decided to move to goalkeeper because I knew if I wanted our team to be successful we needed a strong presence in the net plus my brother was the Varsity goalkeeper on the Boys team, so I knew the basics of GK from watching him. Freshman year, after the first couple of matches I won the starting full time GK position but unfortunately didn't have anyone to teach me besides my brother. Sophomore year, I was blessed to have an official goalkeeper coach that has taught me how to be better and build my confidence. He has helped me with my quickness, positioning and my reflexes which has helped me so much my sophomore year. We improved from an 3-13-1 record my freshman season to 6-7-4 my sophomore year with a Section 8AA quarterfinal win in PK shootout fashion (Stopped all 4-shots).
I am always willing to learn and try new techniques to help improve my skills. I have to say that playing forward, my goal kicks and punts are powerful and precise due to all of those seasons scoring goals. Throughout my years, I have had a lot of up/downs, but I always held my head high and made sure that my teammates believe that we can do it as much as I believe. My goals are to be more aggressive and push myself to what I know I'm capable of and more. I have always wanted to be a Student/Athlete and play at a college level my entire life, with studies in being an Athletic trainer. As a child, I was always around sports & college athletes, and I knew I wanted to continue this for the rest of my life. My passion for soccer has progressively grown over the years and it all started when I first stepped foot on the field at 8-years old.
