Personal Statement
I am Zoie Althoff and I have been in a private catholic school system since 1st grade. Over the years I have realized how important academics truly are and I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by other dedicated students who push me to be my best. There has always been an academic influence in my house because my step father played college football at Villanova and my Grandpa graduated from Notre Dame. This has opened my eyes to academic opportunities where ever that may be. I've realized I need to make a 40 year decision, not a 4 year decision when I choose the college I see myself at.
My family is very important to me and if I attend college far from home I want to be apart of a program that treats me like family. When it comes to playing soccer I have this relentless desire to win games and I leave it all on the field. I am a very competitive person. In the last 3 years, my team as lost 4 games including the state championship for my high school team. Each loss has fueled me to be a better player. I have traveled the the U.S and the world extensively which opened my eyes to different cultural experiences. Also I know the importance of making good decisions and I have done so throughout my high school career. I feel I would be a good fit off the field, as well as on, wherever I go.
