Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember. I joined my first club team when I was in 3rd grade and haven't stopped loving the sport since. There were many struggles along the way, but everything has paid off in the long run. In my latest years of club soccer, I was captain two out of the last three years. As a captain I tried to help my teammates on and off the field which allowed me to become a strong leader. As a starter on the varsity high school team as a freshman, I still have the opportunity for leadership in directing the defensive back line. Throughout these years of playing soccer I have learned that being supportive of my teammates is essential for team success. I have also learned that no matter how hard I try, I will never be perfect and I should not be afraid to take chances.
I have high academic goals. In high school my goal is to work hard, challenge myself, and graduate with a 4.0 GPA. In college I plan to pursue a field of study in dentistry and hope to play soccer at a collegiate level. I think my leadership abilities and hard work ethic will prove valuable to a college or university in both the athletic and academic world.
