I am interested in a school where I can continue to play soccer while receiving a high quality education in the field of nursing. I want to attend a school that is a good "fit" for me, both academically and athletically.
I attend a magnet school and major in biomedical science. Along with traditional classes, I take biomed classes, like sports medicine and sports intervention. My school schedule is rigorous and includes AP, advanced, and honors level classes. I maintain a weighted GPA of 4.2 / 4.0 and an unweighted GPA of 3.6 / 4.0 while playing high school soccer, club soccer, and staying active in extracurricular organizations at school, like HOSA (which focuses on students interested in health sciences) and The American Red Cross.
On the field, I play center back, though I have also played outside back and other positions, depending on my team's needs. I play a tough, physical game on defense. My speed and level of comfort with the ball at my feet make me a dual threat, allowing me to transition between defending the goal to starting the attack from the backfield. All of my coaches say I am coachable. I am always ready to learn and try new things, which has driven me to seek out extra training and opportunities to play in order to improve my game. I try to lead by example and I am always quick to encourage my teammates so we all play our best.
I believe I have the grit, work ethic, leadership skills, and talent necessary to compete at the collegiate level. Given the opportunity, I believe I can have an impact on any team. If you are interested in discussing my future soccer and educational pursuits, please feel free to contact me. Thank you.
