Personal Statement
My dream is to play soccer at the collegiate level while pursuing a degree from a college that allows me to grow, be curious, and strive for great success. Currently, my senior year, I have been chosen captain of my varsity team in which we are leading the league in most wins. Last year I got honorable mention on an undefeated team that won regionals (there was no state due to covid). I made varsity my freshman year for my high school where we won regionals and placed second in state. I have been playing soccer for over twelve years now. I went from playing keeper, to defender, to now playing forward/midfield. This has made me become a very versatile player and has allowed me to understand the dynamics of the game better. I am very coachable, and bring positivity to every training session and game.
The summer of 2019 I had surgery on both knees to correct a kneecap alignment issue. Everything went really well and I was cleared to play March of 2020 and then the pandemic hit so I was not able to participate in showcase tournaments or get any exposure during that time. I am so happy to say that I have been starting in well over 30 games since we opened up to play last September (2020) and have never felt stronger or more focused on my game. This experience has taught me the importance and benefits of hard-work, how to persevere, to appreciate every moment on the field and give my best at all times.
