My top priority in college is to learn. Whether that means having good grades in the classroom or perfecting a skill on the field, I am driven to learn. With that will come challenges and failures, tempting me to give up and crumble under the pressures of being a college athlete. Maybe someone told me that I'm not good enough or strong enough or smart enough for the things that I aspire to. But I cannot and will not be shaken by them because I am grounded in who I am and what I am capable of.
My other priority in college is to be selfless. My teammates, no matter who they are or where they come from, matter to me and I will value their success over my own as I do now with my current team. Because in the end, if I play for myself, the only victory that will come out of that is one that benefits me. But if I play for my whole team, the victory is ours.
